Suspect in Scottsdale Police Officer Shooting, arrested in Tempe. Died at Hospital.
Nearly a day after the search for Hearne, Phoenix Police say he was found near Baseline Road and Lakeshore Drive in Tempe. Phoenix Police tweeted they were taking the suspect to the hospital around 5:45 p.m.
It appears that Kenneth Hearne was definitely still armed and dangerous upon his apprehension by Police Saturday Evening. Taken into custody near Baseline Road and Lakeshore Drive in Tempe, Arizona. The suspect sustained injuries during the shooting and was taken to the hospital in Critical Condition.
Phoenix Police Department released an update regarding the apprehension of Kenneth Hearne via Twitter this evening. Confirming the arrest of 37-year-old Kenneth Hearne. More updates to follow as to the details surrounding the shooting situation in Tempe as the investigation unfolds.
Updates have come forward. And it appears that Kenneth Hearne has succumb to the injuries he sustained whilst being apprehended Saturday. He was rushed to the hospital in what we now know was extremely critical condition. He was pronounced dead by the Maricopa County Medical Examiners Office. The Scottsdale Police Officer is still expected to recover from his injuries.
