Manhunt for Suspect who Shot Scottsdale Police Officer
Police Search for 37-year-old Kenneth Hearne after Shooting Police Officer Friday Evening. Suspect is considered Armed and Dangerous.
A Manhunt is underway in the search for one man. Kenneth Hearne, the prime and only suspect in the Shooting of a Scottsdale Police Officer, that took place Friday Evening in Downtown Phoenix.
According to Scottsdale Police Chief Jeff Walther, the incident began at around 7:00 p.m. when members of the Scottsdale Police's Special Assignments Unit were serving a search warrant at an apartment complex near 1st Avenue and Roosevelt.
Officers on the scene were told no one else was in the apartment other than a woman and young child. Upon entry and further search of the apartment, Hearne was spotted inside. He began to flee and ran behind a wall inside the apartment. Detectives tried to talk to him, Hearne then began to fire shots at the officers through the wall.
